The Raven Review

The story revolves around Edgar Allan Poe (John Cusack) and a serial killer. The serial killer is killing the style of Poe's darkest  writing. A young detective  ( Luke Evans)  teams up with Poe to stop the murderer from making some of his work come to chilling reality. There will be some back-and-forth work between Poe and a murderer. Poe needs to stop the murder before anybody he loves becomes a target of this serial killer. At the same time Poe must all his heart and love with the beautiful Emily (Alice Eve). But, her father Colonel Hamitton (Brendan Gleeson) will not have part of this relationship with his younger daughter.
When it comes to the acting in the film was a John Cusack did all right a little bit.  really cannot tell if it was what he was going for or was he tries to show more of Poe delving into madness.   Portrayed Poe as a gin swilling drunk at the end of his rope.  A beacon of shining light was a beautiful  Emily (Alice Eve) some of the themes were breath taking.   The young detective Emmett fields is of a man of facts and figures not speculation. He trust more than what he can measure. He is a new breed of detective one of science. He has more like a Sherlock Holmes feeling to him. You might not  identified the serial killer to the very end of the film.
Went to the directing style of James McTeigue no big shock there are scenes with blood in them. I'm so happy this movie is not in 3-D. But, will say the bloody scenes are shot various stylistic and really of pull you emotionally into the scene. There are a touch of whimsy interwoven into the darkest scenes. When it comes to the score of the film it is not hurt or help it in my opinion it's just a lot of subtexts in the movie. When it comes to the pace of them it does move along at a good clip.

So in conclusion if you would like to see a dark romantic love story with a touch of murder go see "The Raven".

The Five-Year Engagement Review

The premise of the film is the up and down of a couple on the way down the aisle.   Tom (Jason Segel) is an up-and-coming chef in the San Francisco culinary world. At a New Year's Eve costume party he seems Violet (Emily) and their courtship begins. There are a lot of stumbling blocks and peoples and their engagement. You will also get to see how this engagement impact other people in the life. I will say if you really love bridesmaids you probably like this film. But if you don't like someone I dirty humor you might not like this film.
When it comes to acting this film and I really like Jason Segel character in the film. You can really feel for him and laugh at them at almost the same time. Emily Blunt is a very sweet and beautiful costar to have in a film. One of the standout stars in the film is Chris Pratt. Ideally consisting he will make you really laugh and laugh. The pace that film was not too slow not too bad it didn't really five years. A other good actors in film David Paymer as Tom father. I relive the scene with him in it with him and his wife are talking to Tim, about his feelings for Violet.
The director Nicholas Stoller is not unfamiliar with this format of movie working on "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" and "Get Him to the Greek". When it comes to the score in the film. Some music per trade real emotion and in other time you are just on the floor rolling around laughing.

We'll give you a warning please leave the little kids at home. The movie does have a lot of sex drug use and language in it.

So in conclusion if you would like to see a funny but dirty humor moving go see "The Five -Year Engagement".

Death of a Superhero Trailer

Think like A Man Review

The film revolves around the best-selling book by Steve Harvey. The film revolves around a group of friends in varying stages of relationship. The relations involved from the very benign to the very intense love. In the relationship the women feel like they are not getting what they deserve. The lady consultant the party book for relationship advice "on the game". Or in other hand they're trying to flip the script on the  guys. They're not trying to change their man just trying to put them in the right direction.
This they will make you really laugh there is a lot of great comedy timing the film. Especially when it comes to the facial expressions of the reactions of some the characters in the movie. I really did like the voice over narration by Kevin Hart. Kevin Hart did have really a lot of funny lines But He was not the only one. There are some parts maybe you'll just be laughing a lot in. A lot of these actors work together in similar roles in the past films. You can tell there's a lot of on-screen chemistry between the actors and actresses. As you can tell from the trailer the breakout performance is from Kevin Hart. When it comes to Steve Harvey's performance. A lot of people think he threw the man under the bus back it up and run over us again.
When it comes to the cinematography of the film it has a nice pace to it. The film does drag a little bit in the middle but it does pick up speed toward the end of the film. When it comes to these music in the movie there on great a motion in some of the songs they portray in the film.

So in conclusion if you would like to go see a  funny date movie go see" Think Like A Man".

Jesus Henry Christ Review

The film revolves around a 10-year-old genius boy named Henry James Herman (Jason Spevack). Some people would cal was Henry is a freak. Because he could speak at the age of nine month. He was brought up  by Patricia (Toni Collette) his mother who has her own tragic back story. Throughout his life Henry has never known the father for who he is. The film revolves around his quest for truth and who knows who his father is or was. His grandfather was an important character's life. Find out that he has a half-sister who is 12 years old named Audrey (Samantha Weinstein) who has her own father issues. The person who raised our in a ginger biased way. Wrote a book telling everybody she might be a lesbian. His grandfather plays an important role in both and both plot lines.
A lot of people are going to feel like they're watching another version of Little Man Tate. I really like the acting from Jason Speavak. He does give a strong performance from such a young actor. But we have seen that a lot here lately past years. Also other great performance as the single, mother with a left-wing viewpoint Patricia(Toni Collette) you can tell the director got a lot out of her. You could tell us you really love this child. Stan (Frank Moore) is an aging man in a developing world that back in the 50s. He's worried man that's never cooked a meal for himself never worked so close he always had wondered.
A lot of people will probably not see this really good indie flick. If it does to me. I would recommend seeing the film. When it comes to the cinematography of the film there are some parts I wish they was shot differently. When it comes to the soundtrack I don't think it really mattered in this film.

So in conclusion if you decide to see a movie about a genius kid I would see  "Jesus Henry Christ".

The Lucky One Review

The movie follows the story of a young soldier who find a picture after a skirmish. The picture is a young woman. He believes that she's some kind of guardian angel. He carries his picture of this woman throughout his tour of Afghanistan. A lot of his other foot soldiers and feel like it's his lucky charm.  After his tour is up with the Marine. He feels like he cannot fit into the normal world. So, he goes in search of the woman in the picture to tell her how she's changed his life. He ends up fund the woman that is in the picture. Beth the woman from the picture runs a family run local kennel for animals. Logan Thibault (Efron) tries to tell her what he's doing there but cannot. Beth(Schilling) mistakes Logan thinking he's applying for the local job. There is a sub story between Beth and her ex husband and involving their custody of their son.
The film follows a very typical love story with a little bit of action. You can just seen the movie before the halfway mark of the film.  Zac Efron character of Logan he does a really great pictorial of a tortured soul coming back for war. Blythe Danner really stole that the movie as Ellie. She has some of the really funny lines in the film. Beth (Taylor Schilling) did show a lot of emotional range from  happy to downright bawling her eyes out.  Keith Clayton (Jay R. Ferguson)  plays a typical good old boy from the South. Who plays a bully because his daddy is the judge of the town.
A lot of people will see this movie because of Zac Efron. Some will go see because it's written by Nicholas Sparks he also wrote the notebook, dear John.  When it comes to the cinematography of the film it has a nice pace not very fast motion when it's not needed. Some of those beautiful shots are of the scenic backgrounds of the location. When it comes to the soundtrack it does help and some of the very emotional moment of the film.

So in conclusion if you would like to take your woman romantic movie this weekend go see "The Lucky Ones".

Safe Trailer

The Cabin in the Woods Review

Five young college-age students embark on a buddy weekend to a remote cabin in the woods. Not everything in the cabin in the woods seems what it is.
The movie follows very typical horror movie rules. In typical fashion they have an old backwoods gas attended. He tries to warn the group not to go giving them the opportunity not to be in the cabin. The film does have a funny side to it. If you're a fan of horror movies you will get a lot of the inside jokes. The movie does have a cast of characters. There Curt (Chris Hemsworth) be smart jock. Dana (kristen Connlly) trying to get over a breakup. Jules (Anna Hutchison) looking to have a fun time with her boyfriend Curt .Marty (Fran Kranz) looking for a new place to get stoned. Holden (Jesse Williams) just looking to have a good time at the cabin.
Alot of people are going to see this movie because of Chris Hemsworth is in it. This performance set him up for his most known roles as thor. There are a lot of good performances in this film. I especially liked the performances by Richard Jenkins, Bradley Whitford as the two operators of the cabin. The cinematography of the film was shot very well. I'm glad that the film director did not go with the shaky handy cam type footage. As this movie was filmed over two years ago. I'm glad they use music that would fit any time. Any time periods many places not pegged to the music that was very popular at that time.

So in conclusion if you decide to go see a funny bloody horror movie go see "The Cabin in the Woods".

Let The Bullets Fly Unboxing BluRay

The Hunter Review

The film revolves around Martin (Willem Dafoe) a man is hired to collect biological material from a Tasmanian Tiger who is believed to be extinct. Martin is a loner when it comes to his job. The job takes place in Tasmania. A biotech firm has hired him to do the job. They hired him because the Tasmanian Tiger supposedly has a genetic material that can incapacitate their pride. The company would be like the only one to have this source material. They set him up with a base of operations with a family in the area. The family has suffered a great loss because the father is gone missing in the same areas that Martin is looking in.              When it comes so plot of the film. The film contains a main plot of him trying to collect this material from the Tasmanian Tiger. With a subplot about is the main character falling in love with these mother of the two children of work these things . Will say Willem Defoe played his character Martin. Well as a bath taking loner.
When it comes to the cinematography of the film. The landscape shots are very beautiful. When it comes to the movie there's a lot of silence when it comes to the movie. From what I remember there was not a big music score music from "the boss" a.k.a. Bruce Springsteen.

So in conclusion if you would like to see somewhat of a love story go see "The Hunter".
