Flipped Review

This film takes a more adolescent perspective on love  The story is set in the late 50s to early 60’s.It starts off when a new family moves in across the street. The young girl played by Madeline Carroll named Juli Baker, who see's the new boy across the street played by Callan McAuliffe named Bryce Loski and has the most stunning  eyes she has ever seen. Rob Reiner did a superb job telling it entirely in a voice over of one of the two main characters, Bryce and Juli tells each side of the story from each point of view. Sometimes the views are not the same. Juli's favorite spot in town is the peak of the sycamore tree which is cut down by the yards owner. Juli starts to questions the whole that is Bryce Loski. Likewise, Bryce begins to see Juli from a different angle.  It has a great use of that periods music that is well thought out. All-in-all this is a wholesome family film. 4 out of 5 stars

For the Ladies: I can see the guys point of view.
For the Guyz: I can see the girls point of view.

Running Time: 1hr 30 min
MPAA Rating: PG for language and some thematic material.

The Last Exorcism Review

This horror film is shot in the style of a documentary. The documentary crew follows a reverend to a exorcism of a young girl. The Reverend Cotton Marcus played by Patrick Fabian . Cotton learned to preach from a early age from watching his father. But, he lost his faith in God when his own son was born with a problem. He's a fraud and he invites the camera to document his deceptive practices to get a behind scene of setting up a exorcism. Cotton believes most demon are not real. People don't get posed its more of a mind set. Nell Sweetzer played by Ashley Bellis a young sweet innocent but creepy girl who is posed by a demon.  Her father played by Louis Herthum call on the help of Cotton to remove the demon from his only daughter's soul. Cotton went into this like all past exorcism. But unknowing too him this is not like any other exorcism. The film crew tries to keep Cotton safe. Iris is voice of reason played by Iris Bahr. Just seat back and watch Throughout the entire movie it had a number of  great twists, that kept you unsure of where it was going the whole time It's funny and chilling at the same time. Kimberly admits she covered her eyes a few times. It was a great horror flick. Will give it 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.

For the ladies:You get to hug your man in the movie.
For the Guyz: A good scary horror film.

Running Time:     1 hr. 30 min.
MPAA Rating:     PG-13 for disturbing violent content and terror, some sexual references and thematic material.

Vampires Suck Review

Being a Twilight Fan I thought this would be stupid and ridiculous and just be avoided. But I was surprised I thought it was kinda funny A spoof of vampire-themed movies, where teenager Becca played by Jenn Proske finds herself torn between two boys Edward (Matt Lanter) and Jacob(Chris Riggi) just like Twilight Saga. Everything comes to a head at their prom.It does contain key points from Twilight and New Moon. Also pokes fun at The Jersey Shore , Alice In Wonderland, Black Eyed Peas, Kardashians and Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Most of the character are great look-a-likes. It does have the same camera angles and music. Jenn Proske does a good job parodying Kristen Stewart's mannerisms (hair-tucking, downward gazes, constant lower-lip biting. I did think the Team Edward / Team Jacob was over the top There also was alot of sexual innuendos. For a real true die hard Twi-fan i wouldn't  recommend. I know this sounds contradictory but i do like comedies and thought it was funny. I give it a 2 out of 5 stars only because I like Twilight and this is a comical spoof.

For the Ladies: raining cute shirtless guys
For the Guyz: makes fun of Twilight

Running Time: 1 hr 30 min
MPAA Rating: PG-13 for crude sexual content, comic, violence, language and teen partying.

Scott Pilgrim vs the World! Review

The movie is based on a comic book written by: Bryan Lee O'Malley. I liked the collaboration for the 80's game with comic style. Micheal Cera who plays Scott Pilgrim in this film. A man-child searching for love in all the wrong places. Scott's love interest played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ramona Flowers is his dream girl on skates. Ramona has seven evil ex's not all are male. Awesome graphics like Thud! and Pow! Really liked Kieren Culkin as the gay roommate Wallace who own's everything and text's Scott's sister Stacy played by Anna Kendrick everything about Scott. Had the whole theatre laughing all through movie.
4 out of 5 stars

For the Ladies: It's got Chris Pine
For The Guyz: Do I need to say more flaming swords and an 8-bit pee bar

Salt Review

Angelina Jolie portraits Evelyn Salt, is a CIA agent whom, during the questioning of a Russian spy in CIA headquarters, is accused of being a Russian "sleeper agent" or "mole." or is she? She's on the run from the government while trying to clear her name as well as find her husband who after 20 mins seems to be already dead. Angelina kicks ass in this action packed thriller. Its great to see such a strong female play someone that's a bad-ass. There are plenty of twists, turns, jumps, chases and shootings in this adrenaline pumping movie. Liev Schreiber who is Ted Winter seems to be a dull boss to Salt turns out to be a bad guy and gets whats coming to him. The ending leaves you with a feeling of ,will there be a "Salt 2". 5 out of 5 stars.

For the Ladies:You have a strong willed independent ass kicking top actress and semi hot Liev Schreiber.
For the Guyz: Angelina Jolie do I need to say anymore.

Running Time: 1 hr. 39 min.
MPAA Rating: PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action.

The Other Guys Review

The first of the movie was action car chase and gun shooting. Really loved the voice over from Ice -T. Terry Hoitz played by Mark Wahlberg and Allen Gamble played by Will Ferrell are two low on the totem pole detectives. Terry's past mistake of a shooting makes him wanna be a better cop (big peacock and fly). Allen's past haunts him daily and shapes him to the man he is today. Micheal Keaton plays Captain Gene Mauch , its good to see him back in a comedy role. His character is a Captain by day a Bed,Bath and Beyond employee by night trying to put his bisexual son through college.Steve Coogan's character David Ershon tries to mastermind a fraud. Eva Mendes plays  DR. Sheila Gamble who is a loving but funny wife to Allen Gamble. She really steals the show. Sit back let the hysterical comedy come over you. Okay for teens but wouldn't take lil ones to see this. Will give it 4 out of 5 stars.

For the Ladies: We have Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Mark Wahlberg.
For the Guyz : We have "Gator" and Eva Mendez is HOT cleavage showing dress.

Running Time: 1 hr. 47 min.
MPAA Rating: PG-13 for crude and sexual  content, Language, violence, and some drug material.
